Megan has been dancing from the age of 3 years where she initially followed her interest at Elizabeth Chamberlain’s School of Dance, moving to Essential Energy School of Theatre Dance and Performing Arts at a later date. Here she enjoyed so many different aspects of dance and was taught and later trained for her role as a Dance teacher by Dawn Aldred, Principal and Examiner for the IDTA.
Performance was an area that Megan enjoyed immensely. She performed annually in shows at the Pomegranate Theatre, featured at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London, and took part in the Millenium Celebrations at Pride Park. In addition yearly IDTA examinations were successfully taken and additional performances happened on a regular basis at local festivals, carnivals and charity events.
Reaching 18 her career route was confirmed with Megan deciding that she wanted to become a Dance Teacher. Training with Essential Energy allowed her to achieve her ambition. She has since danced and worked with Essential Energy in excess of 20 years.. Alongside this she has her own Dance School in Chesterfield and also works at Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School as a Dance teacher and Primary Dance Co-ordinator. Megan has staged over 10 years of Primary Dance Festivals; choreographed over 10 school shows and showcases with ‘We Will Rock You’, ‘Fame’, ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ being a few favourites
